6α-Naloxol is a metabolite ofnaloxone, an opiate drug used to counter the effects of opioid overdose. Thiscertified reference solution is suitable as starting material for preparationof calibrators and controls in naloxone testing by LC/MS or GC/MS for forensicanalysis, urine drug testing, pharmaceutical research or clinical toxicology applications. In the US, naloxone has become more widely accessible to the general public as a result of state, federal and local initiatives developed to decrease heroin overdose deaths.
