Norbuprenorphine is the primary active metabolite of the opiate buprenorphine in urine. This internal standard is suitable for quantitation of norbuprenorphine levels or isotope dilution methods by GC/MS or LC/MS for pain prescription monitoring, clinical toxicology, urine drug testing or forensic analysis. Buprenorphine, sold under trade names such as Buprenex, Subutex and Suboxone, is an opiate drug used to treat opioid addiction and to moderate acute pain.
